IRVINE LAKE THE PLACE FOR SPOOKY CROSS WEEKEND
IRVINE LAKE THE PLACE FOR SPOOKY CROSS WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
One of the most popular stops on the SoCalCross Prestige Series schedule takes place this coming weekend. It’s the sixth edition of the legendarySpooky Cross! Spooky happens this year at Irvine Lake, with afternoon/evening CX madness onSaturday, 10/25, followed the next day, 10/26, with another full slate of racing. This doubleheader will make up Rounds 5 and 6 of the SoCalCross Series. Sunday’s celebration of Dia de los Muertos bringing some local Latin flavor to the weekend and  is also Round 4 of the inaugural California Cyclocross Series. For more on the CACX, visit www.CaliforniaCX.com.This is an event you cannot miss. The highlight could be the typically outrageous costume contest and any-bike-goes ‘cross race (with pumpkin barriers!), but there will also be a doggiecross, kids’ racing, a pumpkin carving contest, a brewfest and more, all on the Irvine Lake shoreline. It’s a race, it’s a Halloween party, it’s possibly the most fun you can have on two wheels. The costume contest/race costs only $5.00 to enter. Or on two feet! There’s even a 5K run first thingSunday morning.
