RIDE DAY REG OPENS AT 7AM at THE MORRISON PUB PARKING LOT

Recommend cyclocross gravel bikes though most dirt is hard pack and there will be a couple of off the bike stairs steep dirt sections.  Short steep climbs can sting so climbing gears recommended.  Also a great on a 29er hardtail MTB.  Be prepared for life in the big city riding with broken glass, thorns, pot holes a reality of life.   Thanks to VeloFix who will be providing tech support enroute an Velo Studio nearby if you need to make a quick fix.  Spare tubes, pump, sealant suggested.

The LA Roubaix 75km Grande Trofee route has 3,300+ feet of climbing over 45 miles with some steep climbs:   The Petite Trofee 35k Short option LA Roubaix short route–31.5 miles with 2,100 feet of climbing- miles and will not include the Ascott, Round Top, Debs, Arroyo Seco sections.

Rider check in begins at 7AM from the Morrison Pub. Street Parking available on Los Feliz and Glen Feliz also public parking lots at Griffith Park and Los Feliz Golf Course Ride rolls out at 8AM.

The route heads into Griffith Park over trash truck hill then Vista del Valley (the backside closed to cars)  This section has some broked pavement and sandy sections mostly downhill.  We’ll enjoy a loop around Silver Lake then onto Elysian Park FUN including 2 stairs sections and dirt trails. Ascot Hills Park has some stiff dirt climbs with amazing views of Downtown Los Angeles then onto Montecito Heights’ Radio Hill and into the Arroyo Seco Final published route for GPS download will be posted Friday 5/29 as we may add in a couple more fun sections as well a shorter (bailout) route option.

The L. A. ROUBAIX TROFEE pays tribute to Europe’s Spring Classics, monumental rides such as Paris-Roubaix (the Hell of the North!) by offering riders a hard, fun day of cycling on everything Los Angeles has to offer, and all within sight of Downtown. No cobblestones, but the L. A.s’ equivalent: rugged, barely paved roads, dirt roads, single track, old trolley tracks, and stairs. The rides includes climbing over a bunch of hills, too.

Beer and Burgers on the menu will await all finishers at the Morrison Pub. Beer and Burger included with each paid entry!

Here are some of the amazing views of the City along the route… including two classic stair climbs in Elysian Heights.
