SoCal GRAVEL Trofee #3: L. A. ROUBAIX v2: Hell of the North, the third gravel ride of its Summer 2016 season, to be run on July 17, 2016. The ride, starting and finishing at The Pub at Golden Road in Atwater Village, will venture into LA’s northern foothills and canyon parks including: Stough Canyon Park Verdugo Mountains then over to the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and San Rafael Hills of Glenale and La Canada all on on a generous mix paved and dirt roads and historic trails and parks. Â Recommend cyclocross gravel bikes with climbing gears. Â Mountain bikes good choice as well. Â Road bike with 28s doable recommend MTB pedals.
The LA Roubaix v2: Hell of the North – 75k Grande Trofee route has 5,000+ feet of climbing over 40 miles.  You can choose this route and take the Bailout Option for a few less miles and climbing.  We will also offer a Petite Trofee Short option approx 50km with roughly 4,000 feet of climbing and will not include the San Gabriel Mountain sections.
Rider check in begins at 7AM from The Pub at Golden Road Instructions at 7:50AM Ride rolls out at 8AM.
The L. A. ROUBAIX TROFEE v2 pays tribute to Europe’s Spring Classics, monumental rides such as Paris-Roubaix (the Hell of the North!) by offering riders a hard, fun day of cycling on everything Los Angeles has to offer, and all within sight of Downtown. No cobblestones, but the L. A.s’ equivalent: rugged, barely paved roads, dirt roads, multi-use trails while showcasing the closest mountains to the City!
Lunch is on the menu awaiting finishers at the Pub at Golden Road. Â Lunch is included with each paid entry!
