A retail store is a place where you go to purchase merchandise that is lined up on various shelves and displays. You can feel the sales people swarming over as soon as you enter. We’ve all been there.

A destination shop is a place where you go to meet your friends early in the morning to plan your route over a hot cup of gourmet coffee. Maps are spread out over the picnic table while you prepare to head out for the ride.

It’s also your favorite post-ride hangout. You mosey up to the espresso bar and order a cold, refreshing recovery smoothie and a snack while the rest of the gang is watching the bike race on the big screen. You might decide to sit in the plush leather chairs or at the service department counter and swap stories with the mechanic while your bike is being treated to a well-deserved tune-up.

Your eyes wander over to the carefully chosen selection of bicycles, accessories, and riding apparel. Your friends remind you that your riding shorts are getting a little threadbare and those gloves in your car have almost walked away on their own. You gulp down the last of your drink and head over to check out some new duds while the finishing touches are performed on your trusty bike.

It’s a place you can drop by on your way home from work, just to say hi to the gang. It’s a place where your spouse is happy to hang out and relax while you test ride the latest model bike that just arrived. It’s a place that your club can meet for their end-of-the-year get together.
