A GREAT Sunday in Simi Valley brought racers from near and far to enjoy the sandstone hills at the Corriganville Movie Ranch.  Loose sand and weaving through the Oak Groves and the old lagoon sent riders on a roller-coaster ride!  The morning kicked off with a cross country trail run of a portion of the cross course and the extended climb loop used for the end of the day mountain bike-cyclocross relay race.  A fun day was had by all as the temps started to feel a bit more like Fall.  Enjoy some fun images.video by Troy Templin and JUrbanPhotos.com!

Race Recap Spooky Crossitas – Lake Casitas, Ventura!

Pumpkins and SoCalCrossers took to the shoreline of Lake Castitas for Round 2 of the SoCalCross Prestige Series Spooky Crossitas Weekend October 21-22nd in Ventura, CA.  It was a feel good Halloween-themed weekend of racing with Saturday themed as Spooky Cross-itas costumes a part of the evening festivities while some took it seriously during the Prestige Series races Saturday.  It was a great day of racing intertwined with Doggie and Kiddie Cross Costume Race and Pumpkin Carving Contest capped off with the annual Spooky Cross Costume Race.  Proceeds benefiting appropriately, the California Wildlife Foundation.

Sunday the temps jumped up into the mid-90’s as did the competition with USA Cycling ranking points up or grabs.  With it brought some of the regions top races including U23 National Champion, Lance Haidet (San Luis Obispo) and SoCal’s best Amanda Naumen to the start lines of their respective elite races.  Both smoothly carved the course at Casitas taking the victory.
